Position Summary
The Bentway is seeking a creative and dynamic Graphic Designer and Content Producer to join our team. This role will support the design and production of promotional materials for events, programs, and campaigns, working within existing brand templates while developing new creative assets as needed in alignment with The Bentway’s Brand Guidelines. A key project for this role will be leading the design of The Bentway’s 2025–26 Annual Report, coordinating input and approvals across the organization.
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Graphic Designer plays an essential role within the Marketing and Communications team, helping engage audiences and stakeholders while bringing The Bentway’s stories and initiatives to life. The Designer will collaborate closely with internal teams — including curators, planners, and fundraisers — as well as external agencies and vendors to produce a wide range of print, digital, and multimedia materials, including signage, promotional collateral, and the Annual Report.
The ideal candidate is a versatile and detail-oriented designer with a strong passion for visual storytelling and an enthusiasm for working across diverse creative projects. They are highly collaborative, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while delivering polished, engaging design work across platforms.

Responsibilities
- Design and produce print and digital assets for multiple platforms (advertisements, signage, reports, social media, web, newsletters, multimedia, etc.), with key emphasis on The Bentway’s 2025–26 Annual Report;
- Participate in the entire creative process, from initial concepts to production and delivery;
- Ensure brand consistency across campaigns and assets;
- Participate in design and planning sessions with internal team members to understand project needs;
- Work with external vendors and agencies to manage production activities (ie. printing and delivery of materials);
- Maintain high standards of work and stay up to date on best practices and trends in design;
- Track in-take, progress, and delivery of design assignments;
- Occasional onsite, event-day support;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Diploma, degree, or equivalent experience in Graphic Design
- 1-2 years of professional experience in graphic design; experience with arts, events, city-building, or other non-profit organizations an asset;
- 1 year of professional or personal experience creating assets for social media and digital advertising;
- Proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop);
- Competency in both print and digital execution;
- Strong grasp of design principles and typography;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Skilled in video editing, animation, or illustration for social media while being mindful of platform best practices and trends
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, as needed.
Eligibility Requirements
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. To qualify, applicants must:
- Between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment. Student visas or other forms of work visas are not eligable.
- Valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
The federal government will require proof of all these qualifications upon hiring.
